Giselle Chavez, is currently entering her 2nd year of the Dual MBA program after completing her Master’s in Healthcare Management in 2021. She received her B.A degree in Psychology from Cal State LA in 2015. By day, she works at Optum as a Contract Operations Lead. A favorite pastime of her’s is spending time with her family and doggy. 

Hello there, my name is Adam Mejia. I am a recent graduate student in the Healthcare Management program and a second-year graduate student in the MBA program. I currently work as a Practice Manager for UCLA Health in the ambulatory clinic setting. My professional interest is in process improvement , performance improvement ,training and development,  strategic decision making , business intelligence and finance. I am currently working to advance my career and use my education and experience to place me in a role to be a resource for others and make a difference in whichever setting I am in. On a personal note I  enjoy the great outdoors , being active and participating in any type of physical activity. 

My name is Iris Cornejo, and I am pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration. I support the daily activities of a healthcare organization as an Administrative Assistant II. During my studies, the Healthcare Leadership Association was an essential resource. For this reason, I wanted to continue to be part of the association to reach other students. I am now the Chief Financial Officer for HLA 2022-2023 academic year. A pastime of mine is spending time with my family, working out, and reading.

Hi, I’m Claudia Chavez, I’m currently in my last year of the Dual Master’s here at CSULA. I joined HLA when I started the MSHCM cohort in Fall 2020. HLA has offered me the guidance and support to be able to get through each semester. Thanks to HLA I have been able to grow not only personally but professionally as well. I have been able to make lifelong friendships and be able to develop my career goals. During the program I was able to jump start my career at UCLA Health. Due to the pandemic, I stopped many of my hobbies but gradually I’m getting back. I love to travel and explore different parts of the world. I started to go on nature hikes and to the beach. When I’m not outdoors, I like to sleep. Some of my friends say I’m similar to a bear because when I sleep, I can sleep for hours. I am the oldest of four siblings and currently the only one in my immediate family pursuing a Dual Master’s. Looking forward to being part of this year's HLA board.

Natalie Shirinian is a 2020 graduate student from CSULA with a Masters degree in Healthcare management. She is excited to be part of the HLA team and its program. She enjoys musical theaters, outdoor exercises, and spending time on the beach.

Rebeca Martinez, is a 2nd year Graduate Student currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Healthcare Management and Information System program at CSULA Business School. Rebeca, currently works for Children's Hospital Los Angeles as a Clinical Research Coordinator. In her freetime you can find her enjoying live music at concerts. Catch her at the Rammstein and Motley/Def Leppard show this summer.

Hi everyone! My name is Mayenci. I joined HLA due to the incredible network and resources it offers for us students. I am currently in my 3rd year and my last year of school too. I am expected to graduate in 2023. I will be your new CRRO-Chief Recruitment and Retention Officer. A little bit about me is I seek to learn something new all the time; when I am not in my books doing homework, I like to spend time with my family or go hiking, or watch any romantic-action-comedy movies. Or simply relax and stare at the wall lol. I am excited to share this experience with you all and at the same time learn from you all too. Let's do this together. 

Cynthia is currently in her last year in the MS of Healthcare Management program at Cal State LA. She received her B.A at Cal State Long Beach. Go Beach! She is now an Office Manager for two doctors and works with the 65 and older population. While at Cal State Long Beach she minored in Gerontology and that is where she became aware and wanted to advocate for the vulnerable senior population. In her off time she enjoys digital planning, organizing, and baking!

Dr. Aishwarya Sonawane is in her first year of the MS in Healthcare Management Program. She is an international student from India, and she received her Bachelor's degree in dental surgery from India in 2017. She worked as an Associate Dentist and dental office manager and is currently a full-time student. She enjoys practicing Yoga, working out, traveling to new places, and listening to podcasts in her free time.
